BJP Leader Shehzad Poonawalla Slams INDI Alliance and Kejriwal’s Resignation Move

In a scathing critique of the ongoing political drama in Delhi, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla has denounced the recent developments surrounding Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the INDI Alliance as a "confusion and division." Poonawalla's comments come in response to the tumultuous reactions and conflicting statements regarding Kejriwal's announcement to step down from his position.

Poonawalla criticized the INDI Alliance, calling it "an alliance of confusion and division," and highlighted the lack of cohesion and shared purpose among its members. "There is nothing in common, no mission or vision in INDI Alliance," he asserted. This criticism is particularly pointed given the mixed reactions from within the alliance. While some Congress leaders, including Sandeep Dikshit, have labeled Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as corrupt, Farooq Abdullah, a key ally, has publicly celebrated Kejriwal's resignation announcement.

The BJP leader went further to cast doubt on the authenticity of Kejriwal’s resignation. "Arvind Kejriwal has not given his resignation. It is only a re-designation. It is a virtue of out of necessity," Poonawalla claimed. He argued that the move was a strategic adjustment rather than a genuine departure, pointing out that Kejriwal’s powers had been severely restricted due to legal constraints, rendering him largely ineffective as a chief minister.

Poonawalla also suggested that Kejriwal's resignation announcement could be a precursor to a strategic maneuver to consolidate power within the AAP. "He had no real powers. The CM is still inside the jail after all the restrictions. He could not sign files, go to the office... Now he will have a Lalu-Rabdi model. He is taking two more days to convince all the MLAs to make Sunita Kejriwal the CM," he speculated.

The BJP leader further questioned the morality of Kejriwal’s actions, asking, "AAP is saying that this is a moral decision but where was the morality for 150 days when he was a CM from inside the jail?" This statement underscores the BJP’s stance that Kejriwal's current actions are a strategic ploy rather than a principled stand.

As the political drama continues to unfold, the reactions from various parties and leaders highlight the deepening rifts and the complex dynamics of Delhi's political landscape. The public and political observers alike are left to decipher the true implications of Kejriwal's announced resignation and the evolving strategies within the INDI Alliance.
