BJP Confident of Strong Performance in Wayanad By-Elections, Criticizes Rahul Gandhi's Tenure

As the by-elections for the Wayanad Parliamentary constituency in Kerala approach, BJP national secretary Anil Antony has expressed strong confidence in the party's prospects, asserting that they will perform exceptionally well this time around.

In a recent statement, Antony reflected on Rahul Gandhi’s five-year tenure as the MP for Wayanad, claiming that the Congress leader was a "non-performing" representative. He suggested that Gandhi chose to contest from Wayanad during the last elections out of fear of losing his traditional stronghold in Amethi. "This time, he hid information and cheated the people of Wayanad by not revealing his plans to contest from a second constituency," Antony charged.

Following Gandhi's decision to vacate the seat after winning in Amethi, Priyanka Gandhi has announced her candidacy for Wayanad. Antony criticized this move, framing it as a continuation of "family politics" within the Congress party. "Now, when Rahul Gandhi has vacated the seat, Priyanka Gandhi is coming here to contest because it is all in a family," he remarked.

Antony emphasized that the BJP aims to capitalize on what he described as a lack of competence and performance from the Gandhi family, asserting, "We are very confident that the people of Wayanad will definitely choose progress and development over this kind of non-competence." He concluded by stating that the BJP has the "best possible candidate" ready to contest in Wayanad, signaling the party’s commitment to challenging the Congress stronghold in the region.

With the political landscape in Kerala continuously evolving, all eyes will be on the Wayanad by-elections as both the BJP and Congress prepare for a fierce battle for voter support.
