Amit Shah Holds Key Meeting with Border State Leaders on National Security

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting in Delhi with Chief Ministers, Director Generals of Police (DGPs), and Chief Secretaries of India’s border states to discuss security and coordination along the nation’s frontiers. The meeting aimed to strengthen border management and address emerging security challenges.

The Chief Ministers of Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, and West Bengal were present. The Lieutenant Governors of Ladakh and Jammu & Kashmir also participated, along with top police and administrative officials from these regions.

During the meeting, Shah reviewed the current security situation in border areas and emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts among states and central agencies to maintain national security. Discussions also covered issues like cross-border infiltration, smuggling, and the use of drones for illegal activities.

The Home Minister stressed that border security is not just a central responsibility but a joint effort involving both the Union and state governments. He urged all participants to work in close coordination to ensure safety and peace in sensitive regions.

The meeting reflects the government’s focus on proactive measures to secure India’s borders and ensure preparedness against any threats.
