Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, addressed a national conference today, reflecting on the achievements of the cooperative sector in the first 100 days of Modi 3.0. He emphasized the urgent need for revitalization within this sector, which he noted had become increasingly irrelevant over the years.

During his speech, Shah acknowledged that necessary changes had not been implemented to align the cooperative movement with evolving administrative, economic, and social landscapes. "When this Ministry was formed, our aim was clear: to give rebirth to the cooperative sector in every village and district across the country," he stated, outlining the government's commitment to reinvigorate cooperatives as vital community institutions.

Shah highlighted several initiatives undertaken to modernize the cooperative framework, aiming to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. He stressed that empowering local cooperatives is crucial for driving rural development, improving livelihoods, and fostering economic self-sufficiency.

The Minister's address also underscored the role of cooperatives in supporting small farmers and entrepreneurs, facilitating access to resources and markets. "Our vision is to ensure that cooperatives become a cornerstone of rural economies, contributing to sustainable development and social welfare," he added.

As the conference concluded, Shah reaffirmed the government's dedication to transforming the cooperative sector, inviting stakeholders to actively participate in this revitalization effort. His remarks reflect a broader commitment to enhance the role of cooperatives in India's economic landscape, ensuring they play a significant part in the nation's growth story.
