World Ozone Day 2026: India Launches Net Zero Portal and NAPCC Dashboard

Date:

New Delhi: On the occasion of World Ozone Day 2026, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, launched the ‘India Net Zero’ Portal and the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) Dashboard on Today. These digital platforms aim to make climate action in the country more transparent, coordinated, and evidence-based.

Through the Net Zero portal, entities from various sectors will be able to voluntarily register and disclose their net-zero targets. This platform will enable them to share information regarding their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, set net-zero goals, and provide annual updates on their progress. Meanwhile, the NAPCC dashboard will facilitate the integrated monitoring of progress across national missions related to climate change.

Entities are encouraged to report Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions data on the Net Zero portal, while Scope 3 disclosure remains voluntary. On the portal, entities will also be able to share their strategies for achieving net-zero targets through clean energy, energy efficiency, technological measures, and carbon removal.

According to the government, this initiative will enhance transparency in voluntary climate efforts and encourage long-term planning. Entities announcing net-zero targets will receive official acknowledgment from the Ministry of Environment. A public record of these announcements will also be available on the portal.

The portal can be available at netzeroindia.moef.gov.in.

The NAPCC dashboard will provide information regarding the progress and implementation of various national missions under the National Action Plan on Climate Change on a single digital platform. It incorporates key data and defined indicators related to the missions, enabling ministries and departments to systematically monitor the schemes.

The dashboard will facilitate better inter-ministerial coordination, enable fact-based assessment of climate action, and allow for the monitoring of sector-wise progress. It will help identify implementation gaps and link India’s domestic climate action with its international commitments.

The dashboard is available at napccindia.moef.gov.in.

The launch of the Net Zero Portal and NAPCC Dashboard marks a step forward in India’s efforts to strengthen climate governance through technology, transparency and institutional coordination. The platforms are expected to facilitate data-driven decision-making, improve monitoring of climate action and support broader participation in the country’s transition towards a low-carbon and climate-resilient future.
