India secured two podium finishes in the men’s 10m air rifle individual event at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday; Himanshu Dhillon won the silver medal, while Rudrankksh Patil claimed the bronze. China’s Sheng Lihao won the gold medal with a Games-record score of 254.2 points.
Himanshu Dhillon finished the final with 252.4 points, while Rudrankksh Patil was eliminated in third place with 230.9 points. Patil had made a strong start and remained in contention for the top two spots for most of the final, until Dhillon overtook him during the elimination stage.
These individual medals were won shortly after India secured the silver medal in the men’s 10m air rifle team event. Patil, Dhillon, and Parth Mane combined for a score of 1890.1 to finish second behind China, who scored 1899.0. South Korea won the bronze medal with a score of 1884.2.
In the individual qualification round, Patil finished third with 631.8 points, while Dhillon qualified for the final in seventh place with 630.0 points. Mane finished 10th with 628.3 points and missed out on a spot in the individual final by a narrow margin.
This result further strengthens India’s strong start in shooting at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. The Indian shooting team had won two silver medals in the women’s 10m air rifle event on Sunday, and subsequently secured a silver medal in the men’s team event along with two individual medals on Monday.
